2016 Bike Plan Implementation
Since the adoption of the 2016 Bicycle Transportation Plan(PDF, 8MB), Cupertino has steadily implemented a series of key projects to improve cycling infrastructure throughout the city. These projects have included physically separated bike lanes, upgraded intersections, and the creation of safer routes to schools and parks. As part of an ongoing effort, the City continues to develop its bike network, ensuring that each project aligns with the long-term goals of connectivity and safety outlined in the Plan.
"The Loop" concept in the Bicycle Transportation Plan refers to a proposed continuous, circular route designed to provide a safe, convenient, and accessible route for cyclists and pedestrians. This loop aims to connect key destinations across Cupertino, such as schools, parks, shopping areas, and residential neighborhoods, using a combination of bike lanes, shared-use paths, and bike boulevards. The goal of the Loop is to encourage active transportation by offering a connected, user-friendly route that supports safe travel for people of all ages and abilities
