De Anza Blvd Buffered Bike Lanes

The City of Cupertino will soon begin a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) project to enhance bicycle safety and comfort along De Anza Boulevard. This project involves installing a painted buffer area between the existing bike lane and the adjacent vehicle lane. To accommodate the painted buffer, De Anza Boulevard will be restriped between Bollinger Road and Homestead Road, resulting in narrower vehicle lanes. Identified as the highest priority among Tier 2 projects in the 2016 Bicycle Transportation Plan, this initiative aims to improve the experience for bicyclists traveling on De Anza Boulevard.

The City’s contractor, Chrisp Company, will begin striping work starting TBD with anticipated project completion by TBD. Most, if not all, of the restriping work will occur at night.

Please be aware that there may be construction activities that cause traffic delays. Chrisp Company will make every effort to maintain normal traffic access and minimize disruption in the neighborhood. Please make sure to park your vehicles on adjacent streets or elsewhere, as needed, where you see "No Parking" signs posted.

Questions regarding the project can be directed to the City’s Public Works Project Manager, Jason Wong at JasonW@cupertino.gov or (408) 777-3215.
