New Dashboards Provide Easy to Access Information for Residents

Published on June 12, 2024

The City of Cupertino aims to provide residents with easy access to information to improve safety and risk awareness. To this end, the City has created two dashboards focusing on hazard awareness and crime.

The Emergency Dashboard collects data from various, public sources, including weather reports, fire reports, environmental sensors, and incident logs. The dashboard is a one-stop-shop for proactive decision-making and effective response before and during emergencies. The Crime Dashboard presents over ten years of data visualization in a dynamic format. This comprehensive view allows residents to filter the data by crime type or year, enabling them to identify trends and patterns. A guided tutorial is available for new users. While one crime occurring in Cupertino is too many, the data indicates an overall decline in total crime in Cupertino.
